My musical interest began in grade
school just as most other musicians. I grew up in Detroit, Michigan, and
after high school joined the U.S. Air Force. While stationed in Spain I
joined a band called "World Tour". The band consisted of members
of the Air Force who traveled extensively to perform at military bases.
In 1999 my Quartet won a nation-wide
talent search and was flown to Atlanta, Georgia to open for the Rock Group
"The Eagles", in Atlanta Super Dome. My Quartet was also chosen to
play at the appointing of the new Federal District Court Judge in Riverside
County.
My achievements have led me to work
with some fine performers such as:
Al
Jarreau ¯ Ron Carter
Freddy Hubbard¯ Earl
Klugh ¯ Oscar Brown Jr.
Buddy
Colette ¯ Clarence Johnston
In May of 2000 I will be releasing
my first CD on the Carpet Cat Label entitled "Intimate Strangers".
Each of the musicians I have
mentioned has influenced me and has helped me grow musically. I will forever
be grateful to each of them.
All of the great musicians, such as
Dexter Gordon, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, and others have helped lead
me down that never-ending path called "Jazz".
I want my listeners to feel the
sensations and expression that resonate from the band. I want to reach their
hearts and souls, and make them swing like never before.
